Seminar Outline:
Dr. Wu will introduce the recent development in ASTRI’s major technology groups:  Communications Technologies, Enterprise & Consumer Electronics, IC Design, Material & Packaging Technologies and Bio-Medical Electronics, with focus on research related to energy, LED, optoelectronic  and electronic packaging. He will also talk about internship opportunities in ASTRI.

Speaker’s Biography:
Dr Enboa Wu joined ASTRI in 2005. As Vice President and Group Director, and Founder of the Material and Packaging Technologies Group, he is responsible for development and commercialization of technologies in areas of LED chips, packaging, and applications to lighting and display; renewable energy harvest by piezo, wind and CPV; batteries; CMOS image sensor TSV packaging and compact cameras; printed electronics; healthcare electronics; and micro-systems.

Dr Wu has over 20 years of experience in electronics, opto-electronics, materials, and precision metrology areas. In his previous post as Deputy General Director of ERSO/ITRI (工研院電子所) in Taiwan, Dr Wu founded ERSO’s Advanced Packaging Technologies Center and managed its Flat Panel Display Technologies Center. Leading these two largest applied research teams in Taiwan, Dr Wu has successfully contributed to Taiwan’s world-class electronic packaging industry and TFT-LCD industry via technology licensing and technical human resource incubation. Dr. Wu received his PhD degree from the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining ASTRI, he had also served as a professor at National Taiwan University for 15 years. Dr. Wu is an ASME Fellow.
