Consulting is one of the fastest growing industries in today’s corporate world. It is the business of advising and implementing solutions that help clients to solve their complex business problems. Joseph Wong will provide a briefing about the prospect of a consulting career and share his view on essential skills required for a consultant.

About the speaker

Joseph Wong assumed the position of Partner and Hong Kong Practice Head for IBM Global Business Services (GBS) in July 2011. In this capacity, he leads a team of consultants to deliver a full suite of consulting services and solutions to clients in Hong Kong and Macau, spearheading IBM’s Smarter Planet initiative to help organizations work smarter and transform to succeed in the globally integrated economy.

Joseph joined IBM through the acquisition of PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in 2002, and brought to IBM over sixteen years’ experience in management consulting, program management, system design and large system implementation. He has extensive experience in customer relationship management (CRM) and has successfully helped many clients in the Asia Pacific region to transform their businesses to become more customer-centric through various consulting engagements ranging from strategy formation, process re-engineering through to application implementation. In addition, Joseph has experience of managing many large-scale IT implementation projects for financial institutions, telecommunication companies and government organizations.

Prior to starting his consulting career with PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting in 1999, Joseph had over fourteen years IT application development and program management experience in various industries.

Joseph holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree and a Master of Information Systems degree from the University of Queensland, Australia.
