The Chief Executive has announced a series of policies to help local university graduates to seek jobs.  The Innovation and Technology Fund (ITF) will implement this policy under it’s Internship Programme.

The Internship Programme has recently been expanded to provide job opportunities for university graduates. Under the Internship Programme introduced in 2004, a local university can engage 2 fresh graduates from local universities as interns to take part in the R&D project funded under the ITF.

Programme highlights:

  • ITF will provide funding support in the form of monthly allowance
  • for local university graduates with higher qualifications
  • for not possess permanent residency status (e.g. non-local students from the Mainland)
  • a monthly allowance of $10,000 for first-degree graduates
  • $12,000 for those with Master or higher degrees
  • private sector companies under the Small Entrepreneur Research Assistance Programme (SERAP), University-Industry Collaboration Programme (UICP) and those undertaking collaborative projects with ITC 6 R&D Centres (http://www.itc.gov.hk/en/rdcentre/rdcentre.htm).
  • 2 intern positions of each R&D project
  • project period remaining at least 12 months

Please visit ITF website at http://www.itf.gov.hk and http://www.itc.gov.hk to search for projects and the corresponding organizations which are qualified to become a subsidized employer. If you find any of the listed projects or organizations a good starting point for your career, you are recommended to take your own initiatives and proactively write to the organization to seek for a job.
