The Competition Submission of Entry Prizes Judging Criteria

Engineering is to solve problems of our daily life in scientific ways. Engineering science enabled industrialization so that most of us can enjoy different kinds of products at reasonable prices. However, when products and services are massively enjoyed by mankind, the extensive consumption of natural resources and consequential pollution to our planet become more apparent. It is high time, for us as an engineer, or will be an engineer, to carefully think how we should design our engineering solutions with sustainability and environmental concern in mind.

The Sustainable Engineering Challenge (SEC) is a competition open to all CUHK students. Participants will submit a proposal describing a sustainable engineering solution to solve a problem of mankind. It may be related to environmental protection, fighting against global warming, development of novel and green energy or any engineering solution to human problem with particular emphasis on sustainable development.
