- All participants must submit a proposal. It should be written in English, in no more than 2000 words. If photos, graphs or drawings are used, the total related artworks should not occupy more than 5 A4 pages.
- Double line spacing, Times New Roman fonts of size 12 should be used.
- Only electronic copies of proposals are accepted, they should be in Windows WORD or Adobe pdf format.
- The front page of the proposal should include
- Name of the participant(s)
- CUHK Student identity number
- Academic program and year of study
- Contact mobile phone number
- Email address
- If there is more than one student in the team, please specify the contact of the team leader.
- The title (no more than 15 words), an executive summary (no more than 200 words) and the content (no more than 2000 words) of the proposal should start from the second page.
- The proposal should clearly present the novelty of the solution, the value it brings to mankind and the related sustainability considerations.
- All CUHK students (full-time or part-time, undergrad or post-grad) are eligible to enter the competition. They can enter individuality or in groups. The competition is judged according to each proposal submitted. In other words, one student may enter the competition with more than one proposal. Or a group of several students can jointly submit one proposal.

- Schedule:
- Proposal submission is opened starting from 8th December, 2009.
- Deadline for proposal submission is 12:00nn 31th January, 2010. Proposal received after the said time will be disqualified. The time is referenced only to the internal clock of the email server at the organizer.
- Successful submission of entry will be acknowledged by email within 3 working days.
- The shortlisted finalists will be announced through email and at the Competition website before end of February 2010.
- The finalists will be invited to make their presentation on the Faculty award presentation day in March 2010.
