Recruitment Talks

In January, second term just started, 9 recruitment talks were held, included Hong Kong Disneyland, Hong Kong Applied Science and Technology Research Institute, GP Industries… for various opportunities.

Imagine Camps Training from Microsoft of writing UMP Apps

CINTEC worked with Microsoft Hong Kong Limited to organize an apps development workshop for students on 18 December 2015. Mr. Samson Lee, Technical Evangelist of Microsoft, instructed students to write UMP Apps.

Engineering Job Fair

The Engineering Job Fair was held successfully on 27-29 January 2016. CINTEC has worked with Faculty of Engineering to support the coordination of Job Fair, and served as the head booth in the event. We promoted PIP service, upcoming recruitment talks and job hunting platforms to students and exhibitors. The Job Fair attracted over 1,500 students.

CONFERENCE

3rd International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing

The 3rd International Conference on Big Data and Smart Computing was held in Hong Kong on 18-20 January this year. CINTEC has cooperated with The Korean Institute of Information Scientists and Engineers to organize the conference.

EXHIBITION

Student Achievements in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2016

Date: 8-22 January 2016 (Opening Ceremony on 8 January at 1:00pm)

Venue: G/F, Yasumoto International Academic Park

Presented by The Committee on Advancement of Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CASIE), CINTEC coordinated the ‘Student Achievements in Innovation and Entrepreneurship Exhibition 2016′ for showcasing the winning projects of the ‘14th National Challenge Cup’ as well as the ‘Vice-Chancellor’s Cup for Student Entrepreneurship (VCCE)’ Competition.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT

Delegation from Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai

Delegates of Beijing Normal University, Zhuhai visited CUHK on 16 December 2015. Mr. K.Y. Leung, Associate Director of CINTEC, met with the delegates and introduced Pi Centre in the meeting.

Delegation Visit from Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association

Prof. K.F. Wong represented CINTEC to receive delegates from Hong Kong Medical and Healthcare Device Industries Association on 29 January 2016. Laboratory tours and project demonstrations relating, but not limited to biomedical areas, were arranged.

CUSCS Seminar

Prof. K.F. Wong gave a talk, titled ‘產學研之間的合作’ to a Programme for the Senior Staff of South China Normal University on 4 January 2016.

OUTREACH ACTIVITY

40th Anniversary Dinner of ASM Pacific Technology Limited

Prof. K.F. Wong attended the captioned anniversary dinner at Asia-World Expo on 5 December 2016, and represented Faculty of Engineering to receive a Commemorative Crystal as the Gold Award winner.

After the dinner, CINTEC arranged a visit for ASM Technical Team and Chief Technical Officer, Mr. Wong Yam Mo , to understand more about Faculty of Engineering on 28 January 2016. Prof. K.F. Wong; Prof. Hon Tsang, Prof. Wai-kuen CHAM, Prof. Xiaogang WANG, Prof. YAM Yeung, Prof. ZHENG Li and Prof. NAVARRO ALARCON, David met with the delegates and introduced their research projects.

World Internet Conference, Wuzhen Summit

Prof. K.F. Wong, Director of CINTEC, was invited to the captioned conference during 16-17 December 2015. The conference held in Wuzhen was organized by Cyberspace Administration of China and Zhejiang Provincial People’s government.

Hong Kong Olympic in Informatics Prize-Giving Ceremony

Prof. K.F. Wong attended the HKOI Prize-Giving Ceremony om 22 January 2016 as Guest of Honour to officiate the ceremony. HKOI is an annual software competition for secondary students in Hong Kong, emphasizing on problem solving techniques and programming skills

Mr. K.Y. Leung, attended a meeting with Office of the Government Chief Information Officer on 22 January 2016 with Prof. H.F. Leung and Prof. Dahming Chiu.

IT Square Editors’ Choice 2015 Award Presentation Ceremony

Prof. K.F. Wong, Director of CINTEC, was invited by Sing Tao Newspaper Group Limited to attend the captioned event on 28 January 2016. The award ceremony aims to reward outstanding IT vendors who excel in innovative IT solutions and provide the maximum value and contribution for business development. Prof. K.F. Wong delivered a speech and presented awards to the honorees of the winning companies.
